ebrake bypass

For units using a switch to bypass the ebrake. I tried this on a new Clarion VRX785BT and it works.

I used an automotive relay and connected it to the following pins (if someone wants to make a diagram you can add it to this post)

- Power Ant wire (Blue) from unit = pin 85 on relay
- Ground = pin 86 & pin 87a
- Ebrake wire from unit (light green) =pin 30

Now to use dvd

change your source from tuner to dvd (when tuner is on power is sent to the relay breaking the ground when switched back to DVD power is turned off and ground is connected ) Automatic switch no need for nasty switch on dash.

Hope this Helps
P.S this should work on all units that need to see ground after the fact.

Tech Tip From Cellro Audio
Cheers.

Lol. Sure it is

Only issue that I can see is that with a Navi unit, if you are listening to the radio and trying to input or search for a destination. My buddy's HU blocks out some Navi features while he is driving. I just grounded the light green wire from the get go and it worked fine even though I've heard that is shouldn't lol.

To answer the fact about the nav you are right about when listening to the radio it does lock you out but other then that it works great. To each there own but for me I really dont listen to the radio so this is not a problem .

LOL. It's funny how long this thread has been dead and how all 3 of your posts are on the same thread.
