I was wondering if anyone has ever used bondo glass instead of actuall fiberglass. reading the label it states that it has fiberglass in it. Think it will still be as strong for a sub box.

It is unsuitable for this application. Remember that, even with the fibreglass in it, you are talking about a filler.

Plus it would be no cheaper or faster so there is no point.

dukk said it. You are going to be using a filler with alittle bit of glass thrown in. Now look at what is involved with fiberglassing you have a resin and matt/cothe that get rock hard and the more and more layers you put on the stronger it gets. If you were to keep just throwing the bindo glass on it will not hold up and crack and eventually fall apart.

I use fiberglass filler a little to fill in holes and for smoothing out my project, I use it for the bigger fill jobs....I then use regular body filler to further smooth everything else.

just too make sure you know, DONT USE IT!

Bondo works, but then you will have to go over that bondo with glazing putty to fill all the pin holes, and thats a pain. I have had great luck with Rage Extreme, usually about 45 bucks a gallon, that on, go over it with increasing grits until you hit 400-600, then use a high build primer and paint.

yes, it's a premium filler. basically if sanded properly, will leave no pinholes where glazing putty would be needed, thus saving quite a bit of time.

it's a little more expensive that buying a gallon of regular bondo, but when you subtract the glazing putty, and wasted time, it's well worth it.
