Been wanting to do this with my alpine 9815 too. You have inspired me to go ahead and "do it"

My titanium tweets have an led running paralell (the lightbulb trick is often used in pro audio cabinets as well... Yorkville maybe)

Oh no... this is the 4th attempt with tweeters and raising soundstage, still improvement active over passive, but no matter how I tweak EQ and TA, I still can't get it to sound right in my pathfinder, just tiring on my ears, and loud & detailed, but just doesn't sound full & rich. My prior setup before the ongoing attempt to duplicate that, was actually a set of eclipse 5 1/4" components which shouldn't even touch the previous Morel I tried or these Hertz...
It's really mind boggling, but I just can't get it right, no matter what doesn't sound smooth, warm and full like the old setup. I had the tweets actually mounted down low beside the mid but aimed up so they were reflecting upwards off edge of dashboard into cab and it actually sounded pretty awesome. Nice and smooth through full range, stage was slightly lower, but at middle and higher volumes, it came up nice and high. Now all these higher tweeter mounts and active setup and everything just don't get me that nice blend... Any suggestions, should I take these and mount them low like before for my vehicle since nothing else has worked?
