I used a 100 sq ft roll of 1/8" industrial flat rubber that I got for $80, to deaden the walls in my van, using 3M spray on glue. It worked great. Did the inside of the doors too.
Next, I want to get 120 sq ft of acoustic foam, like you see in audio studios, and do the whole van up in that.

where did you get the rubber for your van?
Actually I had a buddy order it from one of his suppliers, they build rock crushers and the rubber is used as door flaps, but I'm sure you could find it if you called some industrial rubber places...
1/8" was overkill... 1/16" would've been adequete. The rubber is not near as pliable as other stuff, but I was doing flat surfaces, so pliable didn't really matter.
Planning oak flooring... and I wonder where I can hire some midgets to dance in the back hmmmm...
