My son purchased a used amp and subs, amp is a kicker cxa1200.1 and the subs are alpine type r 12s, we cannot get the amp to work. It powers on but has no output. This is the second unit we tried. The amp is under warranty, the person he bought it from took it back and warranty swapped it and gave him a brand new amp after we couldn't get the first one to work. It powers on with solid green light but will not send power to the subs. We hooked it up with a new amp kit rated above the 1200 watts. Also we hooked up the subs in my truck and they worked great. Tried the amp in my truck and no go. I dont think it is a wiring issue, but and help is appreciated. I cant find anything on it but does the amp require the "optional" bass remote to work?
