Question Head unit gets really hot

I have a Sony head unit that gets really hot at the rear heat sink after 10 minutes of being on even when the volume is completely off. Could this be a grounding issue, and should the HU be grounded through the bolt on the heatsink? All of the speakers are aftermarket with very sufficient wire size and are properly wired. Any ideas? Thank you
