Trying to install a system in a friends car but running into a few issues.

1. Installed the HU problem: the deck has constant power, the ignition wire has no power to it, fuse is not blown, also seeing no physical damage to the wire. There is no other accessories in this car to tap into for wire, where can I run a new wire from?

2. What size are the dash speakers for this car? We were sold 3" speakers and were told these were the right size(was re-confirmed after we went back after they didn't fit)

The magnets on the aftermarket speakers are to big in diameter and cannot fit through the holes in the dash.

3. How do you remove the rear deck cover? I need to replace the 6x9's anda cannot figure out how to get the rear deck lid off its blowing my mind.

If you guys could help I'd really appreciate it, thanks

Are you sure you have the right wire for ACC. I never have a dead wire without the fuse being bad. It should be Red/white. Use a multimeter to check it and all the fuses.

3 1/2 is a very tight fit, no real way to get them to fit without cutting. I would leave them empty and just use the door locations, or just use them for tweeters.

Can't remember much about the back speakers other than they are not really difficult compared to Civics.

Derek, yea I'm sure I have the right wire, it is red/white, right beside it is the continuous power, I tested both with multimeter, continuous is getting power, accessory isn't.

Ya I was told that 3" is the proper size for the dash(I woulda had her not get them but she already bought/paid for them and cant afford to really upgrade beyond as she blew 550 on the deck/speakers.

But I mean with the deck it should be fine that I'm running it off the continuous power as long as she remembers to shut the unit off everytime correct?

And I'm beginning to think that they sold us 3 1/2" rather then 3" even though the box says 3". I dunno.

But biggest issue right now is that rear deck, I cant figure out how it comes off at all.

Remove the rear seat... there are clips on the rear deck behind it.

try a different manufactureer of speakers for teh 3 1/2.. something with a smaller magnet

terry, any idea how the rear seat comes out? I didn't notice any bolts, I don't know if there is diff. kinds but its got the split rear seat that folds down in 2 pieces.

Rear seats come out if you pull up on the base on each side. They are clips not bolts. From there you can take the base out and undo the 13mm or 14mm bolts holding the back of the seat on.

From there you can remove the back of the seat and have access to the rear deck. I belive there is 2 body clips on the frot of the rear deck that must be remove. From there you can remove the rear deck and the 4 phillips screws that hold the 6x9's in.

Hope that helps

I've never pulled the back seats out of a neon to do rear speakers. All I do is lift on the middle of the rear dash and since it isn't made from stiff board it will bend and go back to it's original shape, just don't forget to pull the seat belt plastic guides off first.

As for the accessory wire, run a FUSED wire from the windshield wiper accessory wire to the deck.
