How to setup Sundown 50.4 an 125.2
Hey guys, I thought I'd start this topic before I istall everything to learn and get some info on how to do it. I bought 50.4 to run Image Dynamics CTX65CS in front and CTX6 in back. Then I grabbed 125.2 to run two Image Dynamics ID8''D4 v.3, both at 2ohm run on separate channel and Trevor at PTS is building ported box for them now. All of this will go to Pioneer 880PRS head unit. I know how to connect everything, I will pretty much get to the part where everytihing is connected and I start to wonder what the knobs on the amp do :) There's just so many of them :) any info would be nice....

set the gains and set ur amps to all pass. so u can use the LPF and HPF on the deck to control the speakers and sub.. btw u have a sick setup for a 3way active front stage but since ur using the 2ch for sub that defeats that one lol
great amps btw. and there are so many buttons because u can do a fully active setup. hpf for highs the x10 is for hpf on the tweet. LPF for sub or use is as bandpass witch is LPF with the subsonic filter on. many ways to do many things |
geez, lemme me read that few times and try to understand what you just said :)

lmao either use the low pass filter for the subs and highpass filter for the speakers or just put both amps as all pass and use the deck to control the HPF and LPF. simple as that.
OR read the manual lol. best way to do it really. i learn by what i see. i learned how to use the sundowns from my frds car. the 100.4 and the 1500mono sundown.. the manual should tell u exactly what u need to know. if not come back |
So I can just set the amp for LPF and HPF that the signal will just disregard the amp setting and go to the HU for settings ? did I explain it right ? :)
But gains would have to be set on the amps ? And what about the subsonic filter, what is that ? oh and my HU has these settings, I looked it up online, is that good ? # High-Pass Crossover (HPF): 50/63/80/100/ 125/160/200Hz, 0/-6/-12dB/Oct. # Subwoofer Crossover (LPF): 50/63/80/100/ 125/160/200Hz, -6/-12/-18dB/Oct. thx for response, any info is good info :) |
if your amp has the settings for low and hi pass filters i would use them over the headunit
