How would i build a box for my trunk?

So i'm looking at my trunk now, and thinking that i wanna put a box in it for some 12" subs, but i still need trunk space for actual stuff.

Also, right behind the seats are some wires, that would be blocked by having a sub box there.

What I want to do is divide off the back portion of my trunk, directly behind the back seats, and put 2 12" subs in it.

Would just putting up a board, and sticking speakers in it work, or would I need to have an actual box for the speakers?

Im not sure how i want to go about doign this so i need some ideas/advice from more experienced people.

I have built a couple of boxes in the past, but they weren't super complicated..... this is a little different because i want to sort of build in it so it looks like it belongs there.

what i want to do is put the speakers right in the middle basically, between the wheel wells.

heres sort of what I have in mind, and i can kind of see how to build it, but how would i go about blending it in so it looks like a part of the car?

this is just roughed out with paint. Basically I could build the actual box, and slide it into the spot, but what could i use to figure out the volume and such, so that I have speakers that sound good, not just crappy bass machines.

I have an idea now, im drawing up a design, but my biggest problem is the math, figuring out if it will sound good, especially with the odd shapes and angles.

Id like to avoid fiberglass if i can, since i dont really know how to use it, though i might need to use a bit for blending.

Ill post the design when im done drawing it.

Ok, here is the plan I have in my head, I still need to measure my trunk so i can get the dimensions. I'll do that today, as I'm planning on taking my wheels off and inspecting my brakes today as well.

If this is just a daily driver, I wouldn't go through all that trouble lol.. but neat concept !
when you actually get into the measuring stage, youll see its get more complicated then simple sketches

measuring? Im past that now, ive got all the measurements taken and marked out on a board. I now have to cut the board, and put the boxes together.

Its actually 2 separate boxes now without the vents on the side..... there really wasnt that much room above the wheel well, and the vents werent needed.

the boxes are designed for MTX T9512's .... i just have to build this, and save the money for the damn speakers.

And yes, it is everyday driver, but i like my music alot, and the bass even more. Im hoping to slowly fix this car up all around, restore it a little, and maybe enter it in a few shows of some kind..... just thoughts, but the stereo system is a start.

Don't create an individual port chamber. Make it part of your box.

The idea of a port chamber will screw with your tuning because that small port going into the chamber will essentially act like the start of the port, and the enitre chamber will also be part of the port as will the port itself - it will be screwy.

Instead, if you want 2 separate chambers, simply put a 90 degree elbow on the port and make the port turn straight into the sub box, and let your current port chamber be dead space.
