I really screwed something up. Help!
I have a 95 Buick Le Sabre that had a factory stereo in it. Last night I took out the stereo to put in a CD player I got from a buddy. The 16 pin connecter had really short wires so I did the stupid thing and only twisted the wired together and held them with electrical tape. When I wired up everything, I tested it out and it worked fine. But I had trouble getting the player into the mount. After I got it all in, I turned on the car and it didn't work. I took the player back out and one of the wires got detached from another wire. I twisted it back together and tried it again....still didn't work. I checked all the wiring and it still didn't work. I got nervous so just in case I put the old factory stereo back in which is an easy install and THAT DIDN'T WORK EITHER! On top of that the a/c control panel below it went out. Did I short circuit something? Could I have screwed up more than those two things? Am I able to fix this myself? AAAAAAAAAARRRRGH!
mos likely the 10 AMP radio / HVAC fuse... and by the way, reaplcing a factory fuse with a lower rated fuse will only cause you problems... they are chosen for a reason.. higher is not desierable either.. replace it with what you take out.Mark
