infinite baffel sub

Hey everyone I am new on this forum so let me take a second to say hi.

Hi.

Ok now that all the pleasentaries are done with lets get to business. I have a Ford Focus and I was wondering about putting in an iB Sub into the spare tire well. I am not sure if this will sound good or even work? I was going to glass the entire bottom part and top it off with some nice thick MDF to mount the sub onto.

Anyone have a clue if this has been done before and if it sounds ok?

Thanks!

Lightbulb

An IB sub will work, but a sub that works ported or sealed in the airspace you are creating by glassing the wheel well will probably sound better. If your car is a sedan, an IB sub would usually be mounted under the rear deck, firing up into the passenger compartment.

True enough....I 've always thought that configuration would be the least efficient tho. You lose the back wave off the driver to the great outdoors, and you still have to do mods to the rear deck anyway to get the sound into the passenger compartment.

2 more cents worth...

ok I was only thinking of this setup cause I wouldn't have to measure out the spare wheel well but yeah I also forgot how these subs work. I'll have to do the ol water measuring technique to see how big the space will be and find a sub for that size...
