I was reading some other posts of guys fixing there own blown sub. I have a HCCA 12 sitting around that I want to see if I can fix it. I'm not quite sure what's wrong with it, it still plays and all but theres a rattle that sounds like 2 peices of plastic hitting eachother. Anyone know specifically what the problem is? How can I fix it? I'm willing to sacrafice the sub trying so don't be shy.

Your going to have to find the problem before we can offer any help. Run the sub out of a box at low levels to see if you can see exactly where the noise is coming from. Once that is determined then you can fix the problem. It's probably a tinsel lead slap but not sure.

I'll see where the sounds coming from then get back to you, thanks. I assumed this was a specific sound for a problem, my mistake. The sub's tinsel leads are embedded in the spider, I'm not sure if they can slap?

I've fixed two subs with a problem that sounds like what your describing. Check to see if the magnet on the back is loose. Try banging on it because it most likely will seem secure.

All I did to fix the prob was crazy glue. I pound those repaired speakers everyday and they still sound great!
