ugh

horrible news, turns out the matts amp is still dead, I hooked up power and ground and POP...transistor blew. Even worse...I had the xtant hooked up and pop now theres crazy hissing and alternator whine...it goes away when the car is off though. I tried hooking up the amp to my pda and it played fine...even with the car on, anyone have any ideas?

you have a problem with either your hu or crosover or processor, i dont know exactly what you have in your system but look before the amp !

100% its the HU, I had this exact same problem with my last pioneer head unit. The warranty is still on it but it takes a month for me to get it back. What I did last time was ground all the RCA's directly to the chassis of the HU and the whine went away. I will give that a try...or does anyone know how to fix this problem directly on the HU?

Hey Neil, the easiest way is to just swap your HU for a better one such as an Alpine!!
