Well my father just bought a 2005 GMC Jimmy at a hell of a deal.
Anyways, he wants me to install a subwoofer, and amplifier (without changing HU). What i need to know is what will i need to hook up the amp, due to the fact the HU has no rca preouts.
I plan on buying locally, unless someone has something at a fair price.
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Just out of curiousity why does he want the stock head unit left in?

If it's a CD player why remove it? Changing the head unit will not gain a better sound, so keep it stock.

So let's get this straight, head units don't affect SQ? And neither do amplifiers or wires! Oh my god!

Well the reason he wants to keep it in there is because he is old, wants it to look completely stock, and likes the simplicity of the HU. He already knows how to use it, and does not want to change. (you know how older people are....i think)

Wouldnt a Line output Converter do the job neccessary?
