Installation Problems
Hey everybody i'm having some slight issues with my installation of an amp + sub. I am running 2 gauge ground and power wire to the amp (sony xm-2200 gtx) which is hooked upto two 12" fosgate P2's.
The system is working but i need to cleanup the install and the wire connections to ensure nothing comes loose and such. I'm wondering what is the best way to secure the ground and power wires to the amplifier itself. I have stripped the wire but its insanely thick and i cant screw it down securely into the amp connections...I need to know what else i can do to attach it securely
(also i tried to get some ring terminals to attach to the ends of the ground/power wires but the ring itself was too wide to fit into the amp connection)
The other issue i am having is gettin the power wire into the car from the engine compartment. Right now it was coming thru the area where the door opens but that is going to cause issues when the door closes and the wire gets squished. The car is a 1990 camry and i cannot see any holes in the firewall that i can run this wire into. I'm hoping someone has seen or done an install on this kinda car and can show where i can drill a hole in the firewall
sorry about the long post but i need as much help as i can get
thanks!

You need to use ring lugs on the wire ends. # 2 is a bit big for that amp, but you can use the large ring lugs and cut or file them down so they fit on the terminals.
CanTire & HomeDepot sell ring lugs in various sizes. You need the one that fits your wire and has a small enogh hole for the screw.
You can drill a hole anywhere in the firewall. Make sure you have clearance on the other side, and use a grommet so you don't hurt the wire.
Rather than drilling a hole, i ran the wire through an exising gromet. There is usually room beside the steering column.
Good Luck.
