I'm going to recomend an installer.

P.S. Don't stick your tongue across the terminals.

I'm still going to recomend an installer. But, in light of you persistence.....

Connect the + side of the Cap. to the + wire going to the amplifier.(You may need a T-Junction. Stinger makes good ones) For best performance, you want to keep the connection as close to the amplifier as possible.(Read: after the fuse block)

CAUTION ON THIS NEXT STEP

Read the user manual for the Cap, it should describe how to "charge" your Cap. Usually this is just touching a high value resistor between the - side of the Cap and Ground for a few minutes. (Some people use a 12v light bulb)If you were to connect the - side to ground without "Charging" the cap, you'd see a spark and your fuse to the amp would possibly be blown.

Use a "Good" grounding point as close to the Cap as possible, connect the - side of the cap to this ground after you have finished charging the Cap.

The next question that usually comes up, is what gauge wire should I use to connect the Cap? Well I don't think there is any set rule to it. Use the largest wire that you can afford. I personally use 4awg wire, 1/0awg is too bulky for my application.

Good luck, and keep your tongue away from the Cap!

Adam
