Installing a capacitor for the head unit??
Hey guys, I was talking so someone on a car audio chat and he said to install a 15pf ceramic capacitor as close to the head unit as possible. He said it cleans out the power going to the head unit and can clean up any electrical noise that may go through the head unit...
I have not heard of anyone else doing this so I thought I would ask here. Does this actually help any? If so can anyone explain how to wire it in? |
i heard u can gain couple spl by doing that

Caps do filter out ac power. I know the alpine 7909 comes with a noise filter buit in on the harness. (Old school built for pure sq)

Okay thanks for the advice! I'll check The Source (radio shack) to see if they have any 15pf ceramic capacitors and if not I just won't worry myself over it and install the head unit without it.
