It works! It works! I am not sure if it will stay working but so far so good. This is what I did:

Ok, the first big NO NO is that with the 8 wire left on the Canadian Tire Harness, I didn't isolate each one and wrap it in electrical tape so they don't touch each other. I just kind of tape them all together because I thought they were dead because they weren't being used. I believe that was a mistake.

Another thing I did, and I don't know if this was a good idea or not, is that I connected the dimmer ground on the CT harness to the ground on the Sony wire adapter (I read it somewhere while surfing for a solution). I should have tested the wires being isolated without connecting the dimmer ground to Sony ground but I was so excited it just worked I kind of skipped that part.

Anyway, it works for now. I want to thank everyone who helped or tried to help. Although I am pointing out the obvious by saying this, I have never installed a car stereo before and I hope my questions and your answers help someone else.
