i did an iso setup with two 15's, same spl with one 15 in 3 cubes and 500 watts as 2 15's and 1000 watts

I guess I gotta explain.. lol

bottom line is if you have a small box and your woof aint getting to Xmax with rated power and you want it louder... thats when you either build a larger box, or go iso....

or if you know your box is too small to begin with... go iso...

You are essentially doubling the thermal powerhandeling of a single driver...

Larger boxes are (generally) more effecient then a smaller box - less power is required to reach a given Xmax-

iso doubles thermal power handeling because you have 2 woofers being used as one...
