Hi

I recently bought my first car a 2000 civic hatch. Im 16
Ive started to install some speakers so far got some alpine type R 6x9 for the back and some alpine type R 6 1/2 for the front and yesturday bought my deck a Pioneer DEH-P6900UB

The sound pretty good but i have noticed they give off some pretty good bass with some songs and seem to rattle the plastic stock covers in the back i do want to keep these covers because the steath look is deffinitly something i want but i dont like the sound of plastic vibrateing and rumbleing

also if anyone with a civic hatchback notices there is plastic sides in the back that come up and this is where the 6x9 go and they are totally empty after the speaker gos inside there is just wires in the bottem running to the tail lights.... Could i fill theses spaces with cotton or sometype of fabric??? to ruduce rattle as well???

also what will adding a 4 channel amp really due to the speakers?? will it be louder or what?? im debateing weather it is worth it to spend the money.

they sound fine right now on the 22 watts RMS they are running on from the deck ... but they can handle 100 watts RMS so???

Go ahead and amp them, the difference you will hear will be night and day better. You can pick up a 4 channel amp pretty reasonable these days.

 

I agree a nice 4 channel amp will make a difference. Applying some sound deadener to the rear deck will help. Filling in those hollow spaces with some type of batting or fiberfill could help. It's a cheap solution to try and if it doesn't work you're not out much money.
