Kicker SX 650.1 Options?
Hey, wondering wut the heck some of these options do, and optimal settings...
EQ menu: whats bandwith? optimal setting?
What does slope do in lo/hi pass settings?
Kompresser Adj? +24db - -24db what does this do? optimal settings?
Reason i ask is, my buddy has same setup as for hu,subs,box... but diff amp (jbl600.1) but his system sounds wayyy better. Im sure some of these settings are messing me around.
Any help be appreciated.
Btw running 2 12" type r's, rox box slot port box, pioneer 6600dvd hu.

Are you sure it's not an SX?
Bandwidth describes a range of frequencies. An EQ boosts or cuts a range of frequencies, centered around a specific frequency. The bandwidth determines how far above and below the centre frequency will be adjusted. Or how many notes will be affected.
Wider is more notes for an overall boost or cut, narrow for fixing specific cancellation induced peaks or valleys.
Slope determines how quickly a filter will cut, as the frequency maves away from the specified roll-off point.
Steeper slopes will eliminate all but the wanted "pass" tones, reducing the number of notes that are also produced by other drivers, and eleminating interference. They usually have more phase shift than shallower slopes so steepest may not be the best with the rest of the install.
Kompressor reduces the dynamic range, increasing the quiet tones, and decreasing the loudest, perhaps allowing an overall higher average output, at the cost of less dynamic peaks.
Carefull tweaking, listening, and tweak some more is in order. You have a lot of adjustments, and they all interact.
Where did you buy your amp? Did you not get a lesson with it?
There is no "what works?", there is only what works for you.
