My license plate on the back of my trunk is vibrating so loud I can hear it in the car. Has anyone had this problem and found a really good solution?

Two solutions:
Expensive - Buy some dynomat, you're looking at $30 Cheap - Head to "Michaels" or any other crafts store. Buy a chunk of "non hardening modelling clay". Apply to the offending area with fingers. Cost to you $2 + 5 minutes of your time. I've had some on the back of my car for 5 years now. |
Dynamat even makes a specific kit for this...

2 layers of Brown Bread will do it ;)

So should I put the Dynamat on the trunk part or the plate part or both? The plate is really jumping..even the trim on the trunk lid is vibrating.
ps. Dynamat is only $5 a square foot at Future shop. |
I used a bit of silicone on the rear plate for my last car... never had a problem after that.. cheap and simple..

u can get either some foam pieces and tuck them like padding or use sounddeadner of some sort and no more rattles ---oh i drilled in the middle of the plate and put a screw into and it worked too
|
Good advise - thanks...

I have used the high dens foam tape that is used for Truck Canopies between the plate and car.
Works great!!!!!! |
Silicone here also. Just use the type that you can peel away so you can remove it easily when changing things.
