Mazda 3 Component Install
Mazda 3 Component Install
Although I see tons of them on the road, I haven't been able to find very many build logs or install info for a Mazda 3 (2006).
Specifically, mine does not have stock tweets in the sail panels (manual mirrors) so sail's are out without replacing both side mirrors and wiring the power to them. Has anybody had any luck with other locations - ie. top of the door skin or forward on the A pillars? Inevitably I'll play around with the exact location & aiming once I have my set but I want to make sure that the tweet I pick up will fit in the likely location.
Appreciate any other suggestions with regards to this car as well.

depensind on the specific tweeters you have there's a lot of good and bad locations for your tweeters. Also you skills as an active listener will play a big part as well. If you know what a sound stage and imaging are, then the only way to go about your install and try many many different locations and see what works best...
If you've read up on what a sound stage and imaging are and don't fully get it...and are really just looking for good overall sound without all the highly technical active listening.. then so long as the tweeters have good off axis, you might want to put them in the a-pillars, or down in the kickpanels.. try both..see what works better for you.

I'm now looking at a set from Rainbow, Hertz HSK, Dynaudio 242GT or Hybrid clarus (haven't heard this last set but seems to review well!). Wide range of tweeter configurations / depths here though so I was hoping that someone might have gone through this and can eliminate something because it simply won't fit (ie although HSK & Clarus tweets can't play as low they might be the only ones that will fit in the upper door card).
