MDF thickness

baltic birch plywood only comes in a 5x5 sheet.the next best thing to use is marine grade ply which can run anywhere from $120-220 per sheet around here

i use 3/4' MDF as i keep finding peices here and there to end up using for my box....LOL

read that: i'm a broke mo fo that will take free mdf anyday...hahahaha

If you soak the 1/2" for a day or 2, it'll swell to over 3/4".

Would birch plywood be heavier? Anything's better than particle board!

we went one inch now we cant even lift the box it is to heavy [img]graemlins/freak.gif[/img]


I cant find the ones of it being done but i will get a couple to show the full thing built

I guess the heavier it is, the more dense it is, thus better sounding [img]smile.gif[/img] Basic principle of mass vs density.. [img]smile.gif[/img]

^^^ No it is acutully lighter then MDF. But it is more ridgid, thus making it better. I know some have tested and seen gains in SPL going to baltic birtch.

Remember MDF is dense but it is only saw dust and glue, where ply is many lamenated sheets in different directions making it stronger.
