MY bass goes away at highspeeds

When I am driving fast on the highway, the bass from the subs just stops, when I slow down, sometimes it comes on, other times I have to shut the deck off and turn it back on (slow down when the deck is off too). The same problem happens when I am driving slow in the city, and then I decide to gun it, I lose the bass, What could the problem be?

My first thought is a ground issue...Then from there, perhaps, check all your connections to your amp, such as remote wire..Check behind the deck first..Esp. if it is just blacktaped

Check for a loose alternator belt.

Cool

hook up a voltmeter to the battery. see what your voltage is doing when you are reved up.
some cars kill the alternator when under full load/throttle.

Does your head unit have AGC (auto gain control) that raises the volume to compensate for road noise. If so, it can possibly drive the amp to clip based on the levels you have it set at ...
