My problem: When I turn up the sound on any style of music (more bass = worse vibration) my door panels shake. You can clearly hear the door panels and it makes the speakers sound less clear.

I don't turn the music up extremly loud, so I won't need a high end solution, I just need something that will stop the doors from shaking so much.

I went to a local shop that specializes in car audio, and the guy told me that 5 square feet of brown bread was enough to do my two front doors. I was told to just re-install my speakers with the brownbread around the seal and the rest sticking out to stop vibrations. Will this work? I would like to hear an opinion before I cut up the stuff and can't bring it back.

Should I just take it back and buy the b-quiet stuff?

In terms of volume, my deck pushes 18watts rms and the loudest I have it on is 20/35 so approx 10.3 watts rms is the max I would turn it up to. I am just looking for a cheap solution to stop my door from rattling. And would like to spend the least amount as possible on this.

Works great and is the best value out there (IMO). The more the merrier - the more I use, the more I want.

 

Alright, the brownbread is going back this week, and I'll order some B-Quiet extreme. I think to save on costs I'll get the 12 foot roll since I am not needing it to cover my entire door, just the area around the speaker. When I e-mailed the guys at B-Quiet they said that 12 feet would be enough to almost totally cover both my doors, but they weren't sure if I would need it on the plastic door panel as well.

From prior eperiance, have you had to put sound deadening material (b-quiet) on the plastic door panel as well?

 

Well you will want to do both skins of your door, the outer skin (behind the piece of metal your speaker is mounted to) and then the entire inner skin (where your speaker and door panel mount to). If you are going to do your plastic door panels as well, I would suggest a foam type material like the Silencer Foam from Hushmat.
