need help with jl 15's

well i just bought 2 jl 15's off my buddy for 100 bucks in a box, i figured why not its got to be worth at least 200. the thing is one is older than the other and i dont know if that will mess with the installation, i plan to get the 1000/1 to power the both of them, is this a good amp to power the two?

P.S. the older one has alot of wear on the rubber and there is a small hole, can i just but a bead of silicone around the entire rubber seal and then patch the hole?

for $100 bucks in a box, I'm guessing W0's..... should handle up to 250watts each....

If you got W3's you got a really good deal.. and they should handle that 1000/1

well i just woke up and checked them and they are w3's...the regular w3 is the one with the small hole and the other is a w3v2 in great condition...so im guessing i should get the 1000/1 just to stay with jl and i know its a great amp. does anybody know the rms on the seperate subs or does it really matter...im pretty sure they are wired correctly rite now but ill check that on the website...anybody got any 1000/1 for sale? lol

as far as i know its pretty cheap to have a surround replaced, as long as thats all thats damaged... just have the surround replaced and save your self the mess.

I wouldn't recommend running two different subs... If I were you I'd look at selling the older W3, then buy a second W3v2

I'll give ya $25 for it if that's what you decide to do

Running two different subs is just not a good idea in terms of SQ... it will mess up frequency response, group delay and phasing.. ect..

Oh, so you want to sell the old W3 for what you got both subs and the box for...

come on, share the wealth....
