I just bought a new deck Pioneer DEH-2000MP for my 1997 geo tracker. Wired everything but the blue/white. It says to connect it to System control terminal for an amp, but i dont have one. Just the deck and speakers. Problem is I have no sound from my speakers. Now im a complete noob when it comes to this stuff, so im hoping its an amateur stupid mistake, all i want is volume from my speakers.

 

Does it power up, you see stations tuned in? If you have positives and negatives(speaker leads) mixed up somewere the deck most likely will not power any speakers, double check connections and make sure that all speakers are + and- were thay should be.
And just curious why you replaced deck? was there the same sort of trouble?

 

And makesure the speaker wires are all insulated and not grounding out, you did say you were newbish so please dont take basic (obvious to some) suggestions harshly.

 

Yes it powers up and i see stations, ill check the wires again, but im sure i got it all right, i replaced it cause it was old and original, no cd player. Do you know anything about the cord I am talking about, is it possible this deck is only for a deck+ amp and subs?

 

Dont worry bout the wire for amps,dont need it unless you have amps. just tape it up.

 

so even if i put one wire backwards nothing will work?

 

You have to hook up, 4 sets of speaker wire(+ and-) 4 channels. one yellow(constant)one red(accessory)one black(ground).You should go here if you are not using a connector

Dimmer and illumination from tracker, no wire to plug into from deck? is that ok?

 

Not sure bout pioneer but ive run into that with alpine.
