new install - minor alternator whine

i just installed my new apline HU and with the old one i was gettting HORRIBLE "alternator" whine

now it's almost gone, but it's still just there

i'm using RCA's so i've read that using ground loop isolators would potentially fix this, any info on those?

Whenever my HU is out for service (don't ask), they give me a lower end HU as a loaner.

The low end ones always seem to let a little whine through in my van, but my own HU NEVER lets whine through.

So, I'd think that GL isolators would be a good bet, assuming your RCA's are run cleanly through your car.

Either that, or when you've got all that whine, get some cheese, have a party.

i'm positive it is the speakers...ie when the car is off there is no whine at all, just beautiful sound.....and at low volume, i can hear the crackle/whine

as for the ground loop isolators do they need to be installed at the deck or can they be installed at the amp? reason is space is ver VEY limited behind the deck
