This is why you always check. The MTX subs are rated at 250w rms and are svc 4 ohm. The Infinity speakers are rated at 275w rms and are also svc 4 ohm. This really narrows down the choice of amplifiers for you and further to that if you were to put 1000w rms into these subs, you would be buying new subs within a week. Waaaaaaayyyyyy too much.....squirrel....... way too much power for those subs. Come up with a budget for the subs and the amp and I will put together a great package for you.

Too much power is what will destroy a sub. If you were to head out and buy a real 1000w rms amp and power either of those subs or the ones that you have now, you would blow them. End result is that you would then be out buying new subs.

Subs need to be properly matched to the amp, the amp wired properly and finally matched to the box. Screw up on any part of that and the best of subs are only going to give 50% or less of what they are really able to do. Now that you have a budget, I can make up a system for you.

Waste of time for the most part. I have a deal on some Pioneer Premiere 12" subs that will do a great job for you, now I just need to find a suitable amp....

Because having 2 different types or sizes of subs playing the same frequencies generally sounds like crap......oddball subs should be sold or given to a buddy while you use the nice shiny new ones......
