This is a great idea for all you guys out there that still don't have an alarm.

You know how every deck has that bolt and nut on the back that is hardly ever used?
Get some steel braided cable and bolt one end to the back of the deck.
feed the other end down inside the dash all the way to the floor as you slide the deck into its spot in your dash.
once the deck is locked into the sleeve pull the steel braided cable tight and bolt it right to the floor or something strong.
Now there is no way anyone could pull that deck out.
And your the only one who knows where that bolt is that needs to be removed before the deck can be removed.

there is one bad thing about this. When the thief tries to jack your and cant, there's a good chance there going to get pissed off and wreck your dash.

For your subs? pull the subs out of the box and bolt them to the floor from inside the box. then put the subs back in. make sure you silicone around the bolts just in-case.

Obviously none of this is necessary with the right alarm installed.

my only question, is it neccessary to make 4 posts within a few min of each other? there is a 10min edit window on your first post...You can just add to it.

I remember that A&b sound in naniamo(when it was open) used to do this to almost all there decks!! not quite to the floor, but I remember in my malibu I had to take the heater controls out to get to it!!

Dummy lights deter SOME theives, and just get a cheap alarm, I almost always buy or install an alarm first, personal prefference

Sorry Klown, I didn't think it was a big deal. Can you please delete the unnecessary posts.
Thanks.

I've done this for years... the only problem is when the port goes across the floor side of the enclosure. Then what to do?

Not so easy when your box has a port that covers 3 sides... I had to build the box into an amp rack and bolt down the amp rack.

I only have this one of it connected to the amp rack. I was experimenting with it being sealed. Still the same enclosures, 3 ported 1.5cu boxes put together. The flat spot you see between the amp rack and angle for subs is where the 3 ports 1.25 x 14.5 are located. I just filled them with wood to paint all pretty for the Lindsay show.
