No sound to subwoofer
 

I just installed a new Kicker L5 12" with a JL 600 watt monoblock,
I ran the RCA's from the headunit into the amp, ran the remote wire to a 12v switch in the rear, wired the subwoofer to the box, and box to the amp, as well as power + ground to the amp.

All seems well, I hook up my battery, turn on the car, the amp turns on with solid green (indicating all is good), but have absolutely zero output to my subwoofer.

Could it be a really shitty box mount ? ( It was a prefab from visions ) and causing a bad connection?

I'm fairly positive the rest of my connections are solid ( ground is sanded to bare metal and bolted to the frame, power is directly connected to battery with inline fuse, remote wire is 12v switch ).

Do you guys have any ideas/suggestions? I am going to check the box connections to see if I can bypass and plug the subwoofer directly to the amp and see if it works,

Recheck the box connection.

Where is the input sens. on the amp set at?

The input sens is all the way down, I'm going to go back out in a few minutes and check the box connection, I have a strong feeling that is the issue, I used the speaker wire that came with the box to connect the box to my sub, and its like 18awg wire,

Also question, the the remote wire need a constant 12v, or just a 1-time 12-v to switch it on? Or how does that work, that wouldn't stop the sound from working in the sub would it? I mean the amp stays on.. :p

the rem wire needs a constant 12 volt while the system is on for the amp to work, there is a blue wire from the hu that does this.

turn your input sens up about 1/4 way. read up on how to set your gain or input sensitivity.

use 10 gauge wire.

Returned the sub for a new one, worked no problem. This can be closed
