^ lol. nice exchange.
The big three is the useful upgrade of the battery ground to the frame/body, the questionably useful upgrade of the alternator (engine) ground to the frame/body, and the useless upgrade of the alternator charge lead to the battery.
Some people believe all 3 of these important - I believe that with a stock alternator only the batt to frame/body upgrade has merit.

First, I "cheated" - in that after installing my first small amplifier roughly seven years ago, I also added a second battery and have run as such ever since. The second battery was a spiral cell, and I ran a stock battery up front until about 2 years ago. Now both batteries are spiral cell. And just a month ago I added a third battery, one of those AGM blems. All gear, including head unit, is hooked up to rear power, not the front battery.
That's the theory I worked on in my van for a few months many moons ago. I started with 1)stock wiring, drove, 2)added grounds, drove, 3)added alt cabling, drove, 4)added a smaller alt pulley, drove, 5)added "super" ground upgrade (2 ga all the way, many "bounced" spots), drove, and then 6)added "super" alt cabling upgrade (2ga to front bat, then to solenoid switch, then to rear bats).
Each and every time I added more, improvements were noted. Especially steps #5 & 6. I still run a stock alternator even...
Jeez... and I thought this "big 3" upgrade was to buy a new vehicle from one of the American car companies. Mind you.... buying a GM wouldn't be much of an upgrade from say, a Kia lately. Actually, Kia stock is probably worth more than Delco stock.
I upgraded grounds and other **** under the hood. Made one of the wire rolls in the shop lighter. That is about it. Wonder if this Big 3 thing improves anything on a diesel...... mwaaahaaaaa.
