We'll i'm just saying that from experience with digital caps, most of them have more then just a circuit on them to display voltage, they have implemented charge and discharge circuits, and when you connect it in line with your setup, and then turn your cr on, the amp turns on giving the cap some resistance, and the cap charges up, same thing with when you disconnect it, the cap itself has a discharge function most of the time if its digital... Anyways, I could be wrong, but both times with different caps, it turned out easy to install and remove. Thats all I have to say.

I DO support my local dealers as much as possible except that I have an old school addiction that can't be fed by the "new" stuff. I've posted in the past regarding being against buying stuff off eBay but then just the other day I saw this wonderful EBAY add on the top of this site so anyone with a beef should start at the TOP of the chain in my opinion and not whip a guy that bought a $20 item from eBay...

AND it WILL help once I have both amps going...
actually a cap becomes less and less effective the more draw you put on it, then it just reaches the point where the cap itself becomes a burden on your battery and alternator.

a cap works like this --> first it does nothing at all, then when you add more amps to your stereo a cap becomes more and more worthless because it is drawin from the battery tryin to recharge itself as it is being constantly drained by your amps.

thats ok tho, you are not alone, there is a whole legion of people thinking that caps do help. you should see the look on their faces when they see me take out their cap and the stereo actually gets louder (on the spl meter).

sell it.

yuli is correct.

A cap is only useful for sudden current demands. It simply acts like a buffer to whatever is coming from your battery.

Well I assumed it would help. I guess I'm wrong... so be it

Good thing I only wasted $20 and not 100, right? I figured it would be a quick solution as well to wiring my stuff without needed a distribution block. I want to keep everything 4ga and I can't find a dblock that will accept 4ga to 4ga out. I do appreciate the feedback.

Anyone wanna buy it for $20 shipped? ;P

Oh yeah, like all the wonderful "dealers" here in Sarnia, Ontario.... that all tell me 100 different conflicting things. I may as well go talk to a Futureshop floor salesman in training! I've been to the "reputable" places here, yesterday infact the guys at St. Clair Audio insisted on proving me wrong that there is no such thing as 60 or 80A ANL fuses. They swore by their stock sheet!!! And how HIGHLY dangerous it would be to use an 80A fuse EVEN IF ONE EXISTED. I'm done with local dealers.

Same as the local dealer here that told me if I DIDN'T install a cap that I would kill my alternator...

Help comes from people that take the time to provide their knowledge. In this case it's Father Yuli. Other times people wake up that morning and feel like stepping on someone's b*lls...

It's thanks to people that help, whether they be reputable local dealers or people here on the site. SOMETIMES they're both!!!

Screw it! I'm going with the KNF-12 block and not bothering with this cap. Buddy from Knu just said caps don't really strain the battery or alt because they're such a low resistance... and he did explain how they can help with paticular music.
