Angry Panasonic In-Dash DVD player

So I just installed an in-dash Panasonic CQ-VD7003U dvd player in my 2003 Eclipse GS. I wasnt aware that I need to attach a "parking break" wire and have my parking break on before I can view any videos on the screen.

My question, is there anyway to get around it so it lets me plays videos while driving as well?

ps. i can hear audio, but no picture is shown apart from a "warning" signal!
