Party Bus Install

Well me and a buddy are going to build a party bus and need some ideas for how to do the install. Now he has already gone out and purchased some large home audio (I beleive) speakers that he wants to put in. Obviously this is going to require a large invertor. How big of a system do you think we will need to do this in a min (20 pass) bus.

We are also planning on putting in a 32" drop-down flatscreen in the roof. Anyone have any ideas on what set-up/motors should be used to make this happen?

If anyone has done something even semi-similar it would be great if they could give us some ideas....

hahahaha. This would be pimp if you guys actaully finish this!, I would think that the biggest inverter possible(one from a motorhome would probably work) and for the tv, LInear actuators would work good for this and save space!(they make a linear actuator that can lift approx 400lbs and are fairly compact vs an air cylinder or hydraulic)

I say post some pics up of progress, before and after, etc... Good Idea and stick to it

We figure it should be good but a ton of work. i'll likely be doing a ton of custom fiberglass work as well. These actuators you speak of sound good.

A couple other things, i'm assuming we should but a second battery to power both the system and the tv/lights since hte power draw will likely be high. My buddy wants to install a laser light or strobe light type system but we are wondering on the legality of this???

I will try to post pics as we go. Things are going to take a while, need to find an upholtester that will do the leather work for us since there will be a 'ton' of it. Planning is key.

The budget is 8g's and we already have the actual bus.

Honestly 8g's I can't see working, it will most likely be Higher since you say that there will be a TON of leather work! Unless you guys do this task yourself I can't see 8g's being realistic(sorry not trying to look negetive)! As for the batteries, I would say get like 3 or 4 more batteries as I assume that you would be using alot of the system with the engine off and not near an outlet? ONly thing I can see as sticking in the budget, perhaps rip all the interior out, and mount down like leather sofa's!! as for the disco style lights, you would have to ask your local authorities but if your in say a parking lot, it would be legal I would think! sounds liek a good project none the less!!!

y, it may be a little short on the budget, but we have ome mad hook-ups and I can't say i'm going to worry about the cash issue. In calgary, we can make it all back in one week of stampede!!! As for everything else, those actuators look damn good, this should be way easier to mount on the roof than expected. gonna have to look into power draw total and get back to you guys for some advice once everything is decided on.

Anyone have any good ideas as to waht we should do with the roof??? Doing something nice up there seems to complete or ruin the whole package. Likely going with those wavy blinds over the windows and a continuous wavy black leather couch (hopfully pleated leather but we will see) throughout the thing. THere will also be 2 small bars along hte couch with a fake marble that will look something like a kitchen counter.

Overall, it will be a lot of work but should be bomb when done!

NEONS and lots of them you can pick up 15 " lights at Princess auto fairly cheap. My cousins friends have a party bus and she says its awsome and that the neons make it, so i would deffinately load it with neons on the roof, also those glow in the dark stars are pimp( getting a set for my room lol)

pimp is the goal!

The stars on the roof will NEVER happen!!! haha...that was one number one thing, we checked out as many buses as we could and found the stars really made a nice bus look tacky...will look into the neons though.

Basically for the floor lighting we are going to have hardwood floors with fake panel son the fronts of the seats with LEDs behind them to give an underglow sort of look. For the roof, on the side there are likely going to be diagonal panels with 3" cuts outs running the length that have hidden lights (possibly neons) behind them.

As for stereo, I think that a head-unit up front controlling the whole thing, with a 6 disk changer built into the wall so people can add thier own music, then 6 6.5" speakers right above the windows (fiberglassed in) along the length of the bus, with possibly 2 subs under the seats, one in each corner near the back (shake some booty). The driver's cabin will have control of everything and will be partially seperated.

Do you guys think the mirrors on the roof will make it look too tacky though?
I guess the options are fairl limited for roof stuff...
