please help installing car audio, photos inside.
 

Hey guys, I have an old toyota tercel that my daughter is driving. She wanted new speakers as the other ones where blown, so we replaced the door speakers with 4" alpine ones, they installed very easy and problem free. We also picked up a set of some alpine 6x9's for the rear deck (I think that's what it's called.) You know, the little shelf behind the backseats where the rear window is? Anyways, I've gone and bought some 14 guage speaker wire. Now, I have a few questions, I haven't got around to cutting the holes in the rear deck (again, if that's what it's called.) How would I go about doing this? And as for hooking up the speaker wire to the radio, how would I do that? The speakers came with some wiring and I've purchased a Terminal & Connectors kit as well, not too sure if I'll need it though.

Now, How would I go about connecting the blue 14guage speaker wire to the back of the radio?

on the deck it should have it labeled which color wires are for what speakers ( front rear left right ) so cut the appropriate one for the side your doing and then strip some wire on both the deck and the wire attached to the speaker and then use either butt connectors or solder them together if the deck dosent have it lables im sure you can find it online some where... or just move the fade and balance to the side you want to to and touch the speaker to the speaker wires off the deck till sound come outs.

small note all speaker wires off any aftermarket deck are the same colour for each set of speakers except one will have a white strip.

example. blue wire/ blue and white wire will deff be speaker wire and the one with the white strip will be negative. now these colours can all range depending on whats the front and back. but it should be pretty straight forward whatever ever 4 wires arent being used are more then likely your speaker wires. as i believe tercels never had back speakers?

also to cute the holes just use a drill and a drill bit cute a hole big enough for your blade to go threw. then use a jig saw to cut out the holes.

of course do this after you find out WHERE you want them and have properly measured the holes to be cut and drew them out to where you will be cutting. laying in the trunk is probably ur best bet.

man also if you could get a better pic of the deck wiring kit with the wires seperated we could probably point out the EXACT wires you need to splice into.

but using the fade and balance will be really easy too. turn it to fade and fade it all to the back. then balance all the way to the left. then plug the wires in until you hear music and those will be the wires that you need to attach too for that set of speakers. and so on and so forth
