i finally got my speakers
2-jbl gt120
http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/CAR/Bo...rs/GT120_f.pdf

and my amp
clif designs cd700a
http://www.clifdesigns.com/index3.html

now i need to build the box for the jbl's.
jbl's site says 2.25cu.feet. and 30 hz for the port.

this is the maximum room i have.

31"long
17"high
24"deep

also is it o.k. to mount the amp to the side of the box.

thanks

it's common to mount the amp on the side of the box Kingpin, and to the best of my knowledge and from what I've heard over the past 2 years its fine to mount it there.

Looks like you have enough room... so whats your question ?

Mounting an amp to a sub box is usually fine.. but if its vertical keep in mind it wont disapait heat as well...

Yikes you'll need an internal volume of 4.5cf to port those 2 12" subs.

What is your car? It might be a bit of a tight squeeze but it should fit.

15.5 inches tall, 24 inches deep and 31 inches wide should be the exterior dimensions with say 22 inch long rectangular port that is 14"x3".

Someone want to check this? Im throwing these numbers off the top of my head, dont have anything but the windows calculator in front of me, but im pretty sure its within 0.2cf either way and the tuning close enough that you'll be happy with it.

the one i calculated up there ^^^ was done using 0.75 inch mdf

Here it is using 1" MDF.

16 tall, 24.5 deep, 31.5 wide (exterior dimensions) with a 22 inch long port that is 3" wide and 14" tall going inside the box.

This will yeild very close to what you were looking for, I think you'll be happy with it.
