quick question.

building a box that will be 5.5 cubic feet after all displacements for 1 18 RE HC.

wondering if (4) 4 inch aeroports would be enough (50 sq inches) or I should bump it up to (8) 4 inch aeroports and build the box a little larger to accomodate for the added port volume.

(4) 4 inch diameter ports is only 50.24 sq inches or port area though.

unless my math is off

Using multiple areo ports to gain surface area for your box is tricky. You may get the area you need with 4 pipes, but you're going to have to make them longer so the box is tuned properly.

I'm pretty sure its something tricky like that. That's why you wanna try find one BIG OL' PVC pipe. Like a 12"er or something [img]tongue.gif[/img]

yea jumping from 4 pipes to 8 my port length goes from 9 inches to 22.5. But luckily I have the room to accomodate for it so that wont be a problem

I believe 4 4" aeroports will do the job for you. You should have good result from them. Myself this year my loudest box with 4" aeroports had 3. It all comes down to trying differt boxes and making changes like, Volume, # of ports, Port length, Internal/ external ports, angles, Box position.
