power wont stay on

power wont stay on

hey i just got a jvc kd-390 it got it all hooked up but the problem is it wont stay powered on.

it poweres up for about 10 seconds then shuts off have tried several different grounds to get the same problem.


the car is a 02 grand am


help please!!1

ok i do have a constant power when i hit the display button it does show the time the unit it self will just not turn on wiht either the remote or the button on the front

maybe you got the power wire on acc and vice versa?? maybe check to make sure could be that or something else

make sure the faceplate is on properly and that none of the connections are bent behind the face, it happens to me periodically with my pioneer, is this a used deck or brand new? cause it sounds like a internal problem. make sure all wires are not touching ground( remote, speakers, acc and B+) some deck's have a smart turn on and if it senses somthing wrong it will shut down
