PPI A100 MANUAL
Art series will run 2 ohm mono, but will not make more power into it, in fact as I recall, it'll actually make less, atleast the .2 did and I think the original ones did too. They essentially had a "choke" on them to limit output and keep the smoke inside.
Yes, both the Axxxx and the Axxxx.2 series both do it.
2 ohm mono will yield 1/2 the power of 4 ohm mono. The power output is a pyramid centered on 4 ohm mono. So,
8 ohm mono = 50W
4 ohm mono = 100W
2 ohm mono = 50W
1 ohm mono = 25W
etc

Please do not run your Art Series amps @ 2 ohms mono. Yes it will do it but you'll be slowly killing it. PPI designed the amp to cut back on power instead of blowing components when the amp senses a low impdeance such as a dead short. PPI was nice enough to do this so you wouldn't damage anything, unfortunately too many people take it as "Sure it can run @ 2 ohms mono, watch".
The ONLY ONLY ONLY Art Series PPI amps that will SAFELY run at two ohms mono are ProMos and ProARt amps.
