Remote controls
Jamie Edmundson's buddy I believe used a Phillips Pronto (or similar) I think to control his ODR stuff......... I think!??!?!? Anyways, if that's what you're refering to, yes, can be done. Hmmmmmmmm, and I have a Marantz 5000i sitting around doing completely nothing now that I think about it..............
if you have the original remote then a universal learning remote will work. I've done quite a few for clients with motor homes/5th.wheels that the factory HU remote just doesn't have the range.
Never had a problem.
Without the original remote you would need a universal with scanning abilities (whereas it will scan all the "codes" until it finds one that will work).

I think a high end shop in the Seattle are used a Crestron in a Range Rover or something like that a while back in Car Audio and Electronics. It was black. Tim might know the name of the shop, but I can't remember, I think it is out of business now, but Bryan Schmitt worked there for a little while.
