Removing Timer on remote starter?
 

Anybody have any clue on how to remove the timer circuit on a remote starter so the car will run indefinately?

Specifically on an Auto/Polarstart unit?

Unfortunatly there's no way of doing what you want to do in that case.

Max runtime you can get on an autostart is 30 minutes if you program it to diesel mode

Well, you could get it to latch the ignition and acc on with a little fancy relay wiring.

Then use like the trunk output to kill the latching. (Or a switch in the vehicle, or both)

One downside to this is that if it is "accidently" started, you may come back to your vehicle without any gas.

If you need a diagram on a way to accomplish this, let me know

Is it possibly to do on a Compustar unit?

Or anyone know of a unit that I can be done on?

up to 45 minutes on diesel mode in the compustar/firstech products.

Why would you want to keep it on in a permanent fashion? It would not be advised to do so, as your engine won't like it and a huge waste of fuel, if forgotten about.
I'm assuming that you have a good reason for this option, but I doubt that you'll find a starter that'll do this for you.

You can do it, but you'll have to build outboard latching relays for all the circuits that you want to stay on, and use the outputs from the starter to trigger those relays.
Use the trunk output to break the ignition, to reset all your relays, and you're good to go.

Had to do this for remote start on generators.

I immediately thought of using latched relays on the required outputs to keep the vehicle running (ignitions, heater, etc). Using the trunk release to break the relays is a great idea :)

Although I'm not sure there is enuf money out there to convince me to do this install - I can just see it now - "my car overheated cause it ran in my driveway for 9 hours before running out of gas and burning up my fuel pump - here's the repair bill mister installer". ;)
