Well, apparently using 2 BD amplifiers with the 'bd-sync' you can bridge them together. What I want to know is, if I bought another 1000BD and synched it with my current one, would the power double the same as they do on normal 2 channel amps?

ie.
2 channel = 75Wx2 @ 4 ohm bridges to 300W (in theory, sometimes a little less)

2 1000bd's = 2000 @ 4 ohms, or 4000 @ 4 ohms? I'm thinking, following the standard 2 channel regime, it would only bridge too 2000W .... if so, I really see no point in utilizing the BD sync, unless your using either a sing sub setup that has a 4 SVC.... otherwise, you may as well either just use one amp per sub seperately....

I hope you see what I'm trying to say....

bd sync just matches the output of both amps i believe. Makes them act as one amp. IT has nothing to do with doubling the power of the amps. It is really usefull when running both amps on one woofer.

not 2 ohm stable at that point
that much I knew.... i was just wondering... cause as I said in my post, apart from only having one gain **** to setup, I don't see much point in going out and purchasing a synch cable.

Not sure really what the sync cord is used for, my theory is that it is some sort of safety net for the amp.

any true mono amp can be strapped, and i have done it many times without any sync cords?

The sync cable syncronizes the power supplies in both amplifiers together so the are exactly matched. One amp pushes, while the other pulls.

CLUBCONCEPTS is right. 1 amp would push with phase on the amp set to 180 degrees while the other amp will pull set at 0 degrees. without this, power output will be inconsistant on the voice coils being used and sub damage could occur.

I say its a safety net for the amp. Amps to not need sync cord to be strapped. Like I said any true mono block can be strapped, and magic cords are not nessesary.
