Rust Check & Speakers...Bad idea.

Hey,

I haven't been on this forum for quite some time because I haven't done anything new with my audio system in my car. But I have a question about Rust Check.

Will getting Rust Check in my doors affect my speakers in ANY WAY. I have the Morel Tempo 6.5's in the front and I want to take very good care of these so when I see the car I can take them out, Because I'd love to keep them for my next car!

So, Does anyone know if Rust Check will affect speakers/crossovers in any way? Such as are residue on them, or anything else that may happen? Or would it actually help them somehow from forming any rust on the speakers...

Bad news. Keep stuff off your speakers.

Safest way is take them out, tape or stick something across the hole, get the rustproofing done, and put them back.

PITA but it will keep your speakers from getting munged.....:dunno:

You need to get that done every year? Damn :retard:

I would consider a set of XTC foam baffles with a large hole cut in the bottom near the front for venting. That should minimize the amount of rustproofing that can make it to the speaker.

welll Ontario sure seems to think salt wont eat cars away... never seems to be a problem for OEM speakers?

Factory speakers don't stick into the cavity much (and trust me, I pull out plenty of rusty and mouldy ones) and, would you even care if they got goop on em?

good point, and your right i wouldent care i would just request not to have the doors dune, at least not every year.

I also have the crossover in the door, There was zero rust on the inside of the door and looked 100% clean so I thought HEY I could mount the crossover in here and it would really close to the mid/tweet! YAY!

I might just get the bottom of the car Rust Checked, Maybe I can get someone to do it for a little less cash.

depending on what kind of veh. it is if its a truck i would do a rockgaurd and slap it on with a brush all over underneith, works as a sound deadener to a bit:thumbsup::)
