Side post battey rerminals
Does anyone have any experience with installing aftermarket battery terminals on a side post GM battery?
I would like to upgrade my terminals, but I am not sure if side posts are easy to do or not!
Thanks!!

I recommend simply using the replacement nut style of terminal - it keeps the stock battery connection but adds a removable bolt or nut for secondary wiring attachments like audio wiring.

Yeah, the cable is what I was wondering about...the cables that attach to my battery have what appear to be some heavy duty ends on them, but, am I correct in assuming that I can leave those ends on and just attach them to the new side posts?

Right. If you look at the unit in this link:

The threaded part you see goes back through the hole in the factory cable end to attach it to the battery. Then the other end unscrews from the main body and lets you attach power cables and what not without disturbing the main battery wiring.

I just found a longer bolt of the same thread and used washers to take up any slack. I have like 3-4 fairly large wires coming into the pos terminal and its all good, just don't tighten too far or you'll thread right into/through the lead barrier and presto totalled battery. If needed use washers to take up any slack, works like a charm. Total cost of upgrade, 2$ cnd (I think thats what it was)
