Something is Wrong
I got all the wireing in a kit. The power cable is 8 gauge and the first fuse was 60 amps and the second i got was 80, I think, or something close to that. The guy at the store said that this fuse is to mainly protect kill the circuit if the line gets servered in an accident or something so it doenst melt the car. So why is that one going before the one on my amp?

Generally when I have seen this situation where the fuse end desolders it is either the result of a cheap fuse holder that does not grip the fuse solidly, or it was simply a bum fuse.
AGU fuses had their place. I am much happier to install an ANL or MAXI fuse in a car though. My car is all ANL.

your fuse rating should equal or up to 10% larger than max load, if you run 1/0 wire good for 350 amps(if its copper)(250 if copper clad or aluminum) you gonna fuse it at that if you only drawing 100 amps?
the fuse is there to protect you and your equipment, the equipment includes you and your car.
