Somthing is wierd......please help
I have a full fusion system, i was in hawaii over christmas and baught a 5 farad soundstream capacitor. i charged it and instaled it in the truck it seemed to be going well, then 2 days after that in the morning i went to start up my truck and it didnt even click, i wasnt sure what was wrong, i looked at the dash, and my head unit had a dim light (you had to look close up to see it) and about every 20 seconds my subs would randomly thump, and there was a wierd wining sound coming from the capacitor. I then took of the power wires for my whole system, so it was all disconnected except for my head unit(which now was totally turned off) and let it cgarge for 3 hours aand then the next morning in -30 went to start it and she started in less that a second. So i left the cap and whole system off for a day or to and the truck started fine and kept a good charge and the bettery never died. then i emailed Soundstream to see if they new what was going on and all they said to do was discharge and then recharge the cap. Did that and it worked for about 2 weeks, then this morning went to fire up the truck and nuthing at all not even a click, my head unit was once again dim, and my subs were once agian thumping ramdomly and my battery had now power at all.

so take the cap right out of my truck and check the voltage of it every day? also im wondering if there should be a remoter wire or somthing so the cap turns off, cuase the blue volt and amp dial stays on after iv turned off the truck and taken out the key????
some caps do come with a remote wire to turn on the fancy displays, the ones that don't will usually light up the display when the voltage fluctuates (or the amperage does, not totally sure which one) just turn off your car and watch the display for a few minutes, it should turn itself off... when it turns off click your power door locks or something and it should turn the display back on... my 2 pesos..
If you have a multimeter with an amperage setting, hook the cap back up, take the positive terminal off the battery, then put one test lead of the DMM to the batt. pos. and the other lead to the batt. wire you took off, and see how many amps it's drawing. If there is a substancial amount of amerage draw, then ur caps probably screwed.........take the cap out, and do another amperage draw test
