Question Sound System recommendations for Nissan Xtrail 2005

Hi Guys,

I have a 2005 Nissan Xtrail SE , just recently replaced all 4 factory 6 1/2 door speakers with MTX Thunder Dome-Axial TDX6502 6 1/2" Speakers

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10061754&catid=1104 3&logon=&langid=EN

With my stock speakers I was getting more booming bass but crappy mids/highs...when I replaced them with the MTX Speakers...mids/highs are amazing...but lows are very lacking..

My question is will a 4 channel amp help to give me low end....or should I buy a new CD deck? I rather not change the deck....as my wife always forgets to take the face plate with her...based on my civic

Also can you provide me some recommended auto installers in the mississauga/brampton area.

I've been to a couple stores...FS/BB and smaller car audio places and I'm gettting different recommendations on what I should do.

S.

Thumbs up Car installer

A 4 channel will not necessarily give you the mow frequency's your looking for the only way to achieve that is to add a small subwoofer or maybe a small basstube (if space is an issue). A 4 channel amp is primarily needed to boost the overall volume in the car. there is only so much bass a tiny 6 1/2" speaker can push out. As for installers I'm in the burlington area during the week if you ever would like to chat or get some feeback about anything that is interesting you can reach me at 905 336 7464 extension 269 my name is Brian. ciao

if you don't want to go as far as adding a sub, you could switch in some mid-bass 6.5's in place of your rear full range 6.5's

that would give you a little bit more low end, say in the 40hz-48hz range.

Thanks for the quick replies!

If I were to go sub route...what would be the smallest/slimest sub you guys recommend? I prefer not to go the sub route...it's a small trunk for an suv...I've seen on the web this one from kenwood it has the cabling/powered amp/sub intergrated...

Kenwood 10" Powered Subwoofer (KSC-WD250)

http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10 073348&catid=20118

Another one from infinity

Infinity Basslink Powered Subwoofer
http://www.nextag.com/Infinity-Basslink-Powered-Subwoofer-3043472/prices-html

I'm not looking booming bass...just enough so I can hear it and feel the notes

If anyone here can suggest any other alternatives?

I'm trying to keep everything under $400

8" powered bazooka bass tube will be a nice addition. Many guys on here don't like them, but they do work very well for the price and space required, and are easy to move around, into, and out of your vehicle.

also what do you think is a fair price to get this installed?
I called Kromer Radio he wants the following

$266 6 inch 100 watt bazooka tube
$110 for 2 hours labour
$60 wirining kit

this seems preety high? I've looked on ebay I can pick up the 8inch 100 watt for alot cheaper....

Thanks
Sanj

There are lots for good shops that can help you with your install in Brampton and Mississauga. I think there is one or two vendors on this site from that area. Brampton you have 5th Gear, Peel Audio/Video, not too sure on any others there

The Infinity Basslink's are far better then the bazooka tubes IMO and you may want to ask around and look at the JBL Basspro. Both have a wired remote gain to control it abit better. If you need a price on these I can quote you and for this type of application you can get away with 8 gauge wiring. Which is about half the price of the quoted kit you got. And the $110 is a little on the high side. I can help you with the gear but not the install as Im out of your way. PM me if you like on this.
