Which speakers to install?

Amazon seems to have some reasonable prices on the Rockford Fosgate amps. But that place was the only one I saw with this brand so far. I never noticed before but amps here are just generally super expensive. The cheapest I've seen is almost $150usd (converted from my currency) and the place I am buying the Mirus speakers from said if I am putting in good speakers I shouldn't go with a cheap amp but something at least half-decent. I found the info. on the Mirus speakers here and I linked to the 6 1/2" cause that's the only size he has in this brand and says it would fit in the front doors just fine. Where it says Mirus™ Details and Instruction Manual has the speaker info. by their sizes a few pages down.

I didn't check out the specs of the 4 channel RF but when I heard the price my jaw dropped. Well the only amp. the guy showed me (which he referred to as a half decent amp) was one called Exile, a little over $200 usd. But I didn't pay much attention to it since I was still speaker hunting. Before you showed me your recommendation I was actually looking at amp. mainly cause I read a lot of other reviews for amps and a lot of complaints were some heat up real quick and one of the reviews on this one said it didn't heat up after "so and so amount of time." I was pleasantly surprised when you showed me one from the same brand but was wondering if this one is also a good buy? I am glad you think the speakers are nice, they are definitely the best sounding ones I've come across on my search.

Yeah that would be a great amp for the price, you won't get the most out of your speakers with 50w x 2 but they will still sound great- I'm only running 65w/channel to mine and love 'em.. Just don't forget about a wiring kit! 8g for that amp would be fine

Thanks Colton, I may not be able to get my amp. off the net this time around but have realized RF is a great brand from the research I've done. So I may hold out for getting it later in the year *fingers crossed* I am planning to buy my speakers and get them installed them this week . But I was wondering about what you said about the wiring kit for the amp. I'll be taking the amp. to get it installed and not doing it myself, would I still need to purchase a wiring kit or would they have the available items in their shop to that when the time comes?
Hi Johnny, well to be honest, I am new to the whole car sound system thing but I love music generally. I found this forum when I started looking for new front door speakers and soon realized I wanted an amp. to get the most out of them. I am not sure what I should get tbh. But have settled on buying something from the Rockford Fosgate brand. I am currently just thinking of amping up the front door speakers - no subwoofer in the back, etc. (yet) So if you have any suggestions or advice I won't mind learning more.

I would compare prices but either way you would need to pay the installer for the kit or supply one, an installer might charge upwards of $100 or more for a kit if you didn't buy the amp there, and if you were to buy the amp there you also might get a deal on install, definitely shop around!
We just installed Kenwood 4-way 6x9's in a friend's truck last night, they sound great even without an amp AND without an aftermarket deck, I was pretty impressed! Plan on amp'ing them later on

Be very carefull buying any sort of car audio product "online" I personally would not recommend this, buy from a shop in your area because if there is an issue with whatever you buy the shop will look after the warranty end of it, if you buy online that could turn into a nightmare very easily.

This will help you understand the guage of wire needed for you amp(s). First off you need to know where the location of the amp(s) will be. Next an approximate measurement from your battery to the amp(s) giving into consideration how the wire will be routed into the vehicle. From there you'll need to know the fuse rating of your amp(s), if it will be bridged or not. Then you'll be able to know what is needed for the proper guage of wire. I'd advise to go to a reputable shop and talk to the installer and see what they suggest. If you need further help I can assist you. I am an installer myself.
